Jack's house was rarely ever this full. In fact, it only ever happened when these specific people gathered together. Sometimes it was just to shoot the shit. They needed a break every now and then, somewhere to relax, even for just a day if that was all they could spare. Other times it was for gathering information and making preparations for a big hunt. Like today, they were stalking up before going to Colorado to deal with a nest of demons.

Jack didn't hunt that much anymore. He was old, his knees got worked up over nothing and he felt he was better off behind the lines, backing people up with fake government help and organization. Not research though, he left that to Daniel who stayed with him more often than not now.

There was his old team, Daniel, Sam, Vala, Teal'c and Jonas, who was part of the team only sometimes. There was also Sheppard's team, McKay, Teyla and Ronon. Sometimes there were other Hunters too, Lorne and Cadman, Davis, Markham and Stackhouse, and Larrin - though Jack was glad he hadn't seen her around much lately because she always caused trouble. And then there was Cam. He was their stray, divided himself between Jack's old team and Sheppard's team like he couldn't make up his mind over which one he was attached to more.

Jack figured that was true because, as an Angel of the Lord, Camael had orders to travel with Daniel and the team. Whatever that reason was, Camael was keeping it to himself. On the other hand, Cam (which they only called him when he didn't have a stick up his ass) was drawn to Sheppard like a moth to a flame, like Jack was to Daniel only Jack knew they had yet to do anything about it.

Jack knows they will, eventually. Cam's slowly been acting more and more human, something that's brought up by the other angels every time they show their feathery asses, and Sheppard's working on that 'I shouldn't be corrupting an angel' issue that seems to take up most of his brain function every time Cam's around.

Currently they've got that eye fucking thing going on, whenever Cam looks up from helping Daniel with the Enochian Sigils and John looks over from his conversation with Vala, Rodney and Teyla. It reminds Jack of himself and Daniel during those first years, both of them still suffering from the loss of someone they'd loved yet undeniably attracted to each other.

"How sweet," a deep silky voice suddenly said.

Jack spun around, drawing his gun even though he already knew who it was by the voice alone.

"Screw you."

"Come on," Ba'al said, ignoring the gun in his face and raiding the scotch. "Angel and a human? That's nothing new. Angel and a Demon? Now that would be something worth talking about."

Jack shook his head, scowling. He hated Ba'al, more than anything. Wanted to kill the guy for even having the balls to step into his house the amount of times he had but the sonovabitch Demon was helping them. Jack was waiting for the day they were double crossed for the pleasure of slashing his throat.

"Keep dreaming," Ba'al smirked, as if he knew what Jack was thinking. He probably did, Jack never avoided the fact that he wanted to kill him.

"What do you want?" Jack demanded.

"You're not going to win this, they outnumber you by at least fifty and up to a hundred depending on when you decided to strike."

"Aren't you just a bundle of optimism," Jack rolled his eyes. "You think we don't know how many demons inhabit the nest? We're prepared."

Ba'al snorted, "You think you are."

Jack crossed his arms. Asshole could be playing games with them, it wasn't uncommon for him to manipulate the facts to get what he wanted. Except that sometimes Ba'al was straight with them, told them the facts and let them loose on the Demons with everything they needed to know.

"What do you know that we don't?" Teal'c, ever sneaky, was suddenly standing beside Jack.

Ba'al sneered at Teal'c, "They know you're coming and their waiting. Featherhead won't make it five feet onto the complex without being banished and they've already torn out all the electrical so you can't get up to your usual tricks. Face it boys, you're screwed. "

"That hasn't stopped us before," Jack shot back. "I can guarantee you it won't stop us now."
